The Sleepy Cost Of Daylight Savings

Daylight saving is the worst. Like, really the stupidest arbitrary thing we do as a society that has outlived its purpose.

Daylight savings has many myths about its origin. Train scheduling. Reducing energy costs due to “more sunlight.” But the real costs of messing with your sleep schedule are real: recorded increase in heart attacks, accidents, and more fatigue-related things.

When daylight savings hits, we need to focus on keeping our regular sleep, well, regular. Otherwise, we are prone to mistakes, lost productivity, irritability, or worse.

I didn’t have to change the clocks for half of my college years in Indiana, and it was super great!

  5.  Before bed routine - Keep it consistent!

The number one thing is to keep your sleep and wake times consistent ( so shift them slowly to the "new time" this week)
