Jun 13, 2016
Have you ever had any of these challenges...
- Not know how to eat healthy?
- Not sure what’s up with all these crazy diets?
- Not sure what to believe?
In 2010, I was sick of making sandwiched and eating at restraints, so I started to explore how to cook. So many different things to try, so many things that were healthy and not healthy it was a bit much. Being overwhelmed, I started to experiment.
I saw a movie and got inspired, and tried a ‘no garbage diet’ I tried veggies, veganism, pasta-sim. I tried all the diets - no carbs, and paleo.
At the end, I took a look at my notes, and figured out some common themes you might find helpful.
More importantly, I :
- Lost 20 lbs by eliminating certain foods
- Slept way better
- had more energy
- skin cleared up
- ENJOYED MAKING FOOD!
So what did I learn? Here are five common threads to fuel your body for maximum energy:
- Eat fresh organic veggies.
- Eat hormone /chemical free meat
- Stay away from white carbs
- Stay away from sugar/HFCS
- Drink more water
Tips and tricks for better energy (and Nutrition):
- Check with your nutritionist before starting your diet!
- Focus on building new habits, not the scale
- Try drinking an 8oz cup of water before snacking or eating
- Eat more things that do not come in a box or bag; fresh veggies OK, bag of chips NOT OK
- Do not worry about giving up your favorite foods. Focus on a few of these points and see how much energy you feel
- Do not worry about how hard it is to change your diet. There is an awesome book called “It starts with food” that you should read if you want a full pescription.
Here’s the first thing to do...
Look up the whole 30, pick a new recipe and try it for one meal this week.
