Some common answer to FAQs:

  1. This podcast will be recored on video! Please be sure to dress authentically, knowing our interview will be on YouTube!
  2. The podcast will NOT be recorded "live". So mistakes, bio-breaks, snacks with milkshakes, and other distractive rhymes are totally cool.
  3. My intention is to highlight how awesome YOU are, and why you feel your topic is AWESOME! The podcast works the best when it feels like a casual conversation between friends. And if you are here, we totally are friends!
  4. The basic flow of the interview is: your story getting into your topic, digging into that topic, and how to get started in the topic. I want the conversation to feel natural, so will not provide the any questions ahead of time. I do have set questions to keep the conversation going if we get stuck.
  5. I will be taking notes during our interview. That's why I look down during the interview, and it's because I am learning from you, and taking notes for later editing. I encourage you to have a notebook handy to take notes, too.
  6. Please use headphones or earbuds! Why? It prevents audio echo for post production. Also, please be aware if your microphone is on the wire to you headphones/earbuds - if you have a zipper it will click pretty horribly on the audio. If I can't fix the clicking, I can't publish your wisdom and passion for your topic!
  7. I may choose to not publish your interview. I don't know where the conversation will take us. If I don't think it will serve the audience, is too jargon-y for a general audience to understand, the sounds is unsalvageable, or for other reasons, we may not post the episode. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes does!
