We all experience overwhelm. As a coach, I often get question on how to better manage overwhelm. Just this past week, I got a text from someone who had a new job as a manager and wanted to know how to manage the overwhelm of a new job, as an introverted leader.

As someone who is an introvert themselves, I resonated with this question.

So what causes overwhelm?

  • Overwhelm = capacity to perform < the amount of work
  • Overwhelm = self-confidence < belief we can perform
  • Overwhelm = rest time < performance time
  • Overwhelm = resources < Requirement for Time and Deadlines

These are the usual scenarios people experience when they have overwhelm.
