Why Not choosing or not feeling aligned with your purpose can lead to frustration.
Many people have had others choose their destiny or life for them, to no fault of their own.
We are told who to be when we are growing up. We are told to do "the right things" like make money, find a family, and be happy.
Most people pick up these social cues from their parents, family, and friends and do not reflect on what they really want out of life.
There is nothing more frustrating then feeling like you are living someone else's life, or that you are not in control of your destiny.
It's also hard to say "no" to distractions or others when we are not clear on our purpose.
So, how do we pick our purpose, define our destiny, or take control back?
There are two ways to look at it. You are either working towards something you think is important, or working in service to something outside of you.
Maybe your mission is to cure cancer. Maybe it's to build a huge startup that helps millions around the world. These are example of intrinsic purpose. Your purpose is defined by you.
Maybe your mission is to raise good children, provide for your family, or speak up about something because nobody else is.
