Book A Call

Introducing Start Your Week with a Coach

Apr 18, 2020

Hello!

You may notice there's a new format for the blog.  I'm calling it Start Your Week With A Coach, where we help you start your week in high performance.

If you run a business, professional practice, or knowledge-based work, then this is the blog to help you increase your success without burning out.

Have you ever struggle with feeling productive, even though you've DONE everything on your to-do list?

How about being successful without feeling successful?

Does your work-life rock, but your home-life sucks?

Are you too busy to take care of your health and mind?

I've been there.  My career started in technology at Wal-Mart, and I felt like no matter how much I got done, nothing ever progressed.  I was stressed out, fatigued, and overwhelmed by the amount of never-ending work.  Long gone were the days of being intensely busy then time to recover (like in college).  We would work long hours, be on call during the evening, and always seem behind the ball.  I felt consistently uncertain how the day would go, or if I would be able to make it through the day.

In times of great stress and uncertainty, there are two things we can do.  We can shut down and frantically try to survive.  Or we can figure out how to initiate change in our lives.

When I finally got fed up with just trying to survive, I started figuring out how to become a better person and leader.  I took all the courses I could at my job.  I started reading personal development books and psychology.  I started dreaming about my future again.

Before I knew it, I was advancing at my job and formulating a plan for the life I wanted to live.  My quality of life changed for the better, and I now work on things that feel fulfilling and energize me.

That's how I eventually started to coach and teach people on personal development.

I've had a former client go from trying to figure out her future, to starting an awesome company helping educators deal with stress and trauma.

One former client was sick of the politics of direction of her job but couldn't figure out how to pivot into something new.

Many clients have found a renewed commitment to their relationships, health, well-being, and purpose.

That's the power of consistent personal development.

And personal development is more relevant now than ever.  How are you showing up with all the uncertainty, anxiousness, and fear with the coronavirus?  Many people are struggling, and many people don't have the tools to be resilient and resourceful at this time.

Others are coping better because they take better care of their psychology.  Simple things like working out, sleeping enough, drinking enough water, helping where they can, and keeping things in perspective.  You are probably in this camp because you are here, and the learners tend to have more tools at their disposal to handle stress.

Keep learning, keep growing, keep serving, and keep on being healthy!  Be sure to sign up for the weekly "Start your week with a coach" emails to continue to learn if you haven't already.
